Beyond Staged Protocols

Continuous Navigation in Real Time

In the earliest days of developing our bilateral, 16-target framework, sessions were organized into four general quarters. Practitioners conceptualized these phases using familiar exercise metaphors: warming up, loosening, active training, and cooling down.

Those stages used broad filtering shifts—adjusting from simple averages to higher-order moments about the mean. But broad mathematical filters are slow. They act with a wide brush and require significant time to exert an influence on signal processing.

As the math evolved, it became evident that real-time transformation does not happen in artificial, pre-divided quarters. Real neuroadaptation occurs within localized “neighborhoods of variability.”

Every target region in the central nervous system maintains its own baseline neighborhood of activity. The software continuously calculates the probability that fluctuations within those neighborhoods will remain within their resilient boundaries relative to recent frames of reference.

This insight gave birth to automated navigation (AutoNav). Rather than imposing rigid, external protocols, AutoNav continually monitors the ongoing stability of the flight path in real time.

Consider the difference between a sudden, unexpected jolt and normal atmospheric turbulence. If you are sitting on an airplane with a cup of tea, you want your reflexes to adapt dynamically so the cup doesn’t spill when the plane bumps.

AutoNav does not guess what the brain is doing, nor does it force an arbitrary pattern onto it. It calculates real-time turbulence and provides precise, micro-second feedback, allowing the brain’s innate self-correcting mechanisms to maintain stability across every neighborhood of activity simultaneously.
