Sleep disorders and tinnitus

Both live in the same territory: a limbic system that is not calibrating its own cycle, and an auditory system that will not stop generating signal. Sleep that does not restore is a regulation problem, not a duration problem.

One system, two symptoms

Sleep and tinnitus share more territory than people expect, which is why they are on one page.

Deep limbic system

Sleep restoration and circadian rhythm, energy level modulation, and the mood regulation that rides on both.

Temporal lobes

Auditory association and discrimination, where a signal with no source gets generated and held.

What people describe

Hours in bed is the number people bring. What the night actually restored is the number that matters.

  • Sleeping all night and none of it restoring anything
  • Falling asleep easily and waking at the same hour every night
  • A ringing that gets louder as the day gets harder
  • Energy that never reaches the level the hours should buy

How we work with it

Start with an assessment

If apnoea is a possibility, see a physician first; that is a medical diagnosis and needs one. Otherwise the Individualized NeuroDevelopmental Profile reads the limbic contribution alongside the rest.

Then the work itself

For this presentation that usually means Dynamical Neurofeedback®, regulation work that lets the nervous system self-correct. The target is restoration, not duration. Eight unrestful hours and six restful ones are not the same result.

Questions people ask

What people ask when the hours are there and the rest is not.

Is tinnitus curable?

We will not promise that. What responds is how much of the system’s attention the signal takes, which is a regulation question.

That is a medical diagnosis and needs a physician. Regulation work sits alongside it, not instead of it.

Dynamical Neurofeedback®, usually inside NeuroCognitive Processing so the regulation work and the cognitive work happen together.

Take something home with you

$49.95 USD

Prices in USD, as published in the storefront. Checkout, delivery and support for anything on this shelf run through store.cognitive-connections.com.

Measure what the night restored

Sleeping through and waking flat is a calibration problem. The assessment shows whether the limbic system is where to work.
