How care is delivered, not where you start

NeuroCognitive Processing

Developed by Dr. Lisé DeLong, NeuroCognitive Processing is our signature, dual-track care model. By pairing real-time Dynamical Neurofeedback® with active cognitive rehabilitation in the exact same session, your central nervous system learns to self-correct while your brain is actively working, building resilience under real-world mental load rather than resting in isolation.

Two tracks, one session. Most traditional neurofeedback asks you to sit still and passively watch a screen. We believe that is only half a session.

The two tracks

True neuroadaptation happens when your nervous system learns to regulate while staying actively engaged. Dr. Lisé DeLong’s NeuroCognitive Processing (NCP) model runs two simultaneous tracks to make that happen.

Track 1. Dynamical Neurofeedback® acts as a real-time mirror, giving your central nervous system the gentle cues it needs to quiet turbulence and self-correct naturally.

Track 2. Active cognitive remediation provides targeted, playful exercises during the session to strengthen memory, executive function and perceptual processing under real-world mental load.

By pairing nervous system regulation with active training in the exact same session, your brain does not just rest. It learns, adapts, and carries those resilient pathways directly forward into your daily life.

The NCP advantage

Instead of treating your brain’s electrical activity and your cognitive processing as two separate tasks, we train them simultaneously. This dual-track approach invites the brain to build resilience, focus and flexibility while you are actively engaged in the work.

Active recovery. The work happens while the system is under load, not while it is idle.

Cognitive rehabilitation

We sharpen processing speed, memory, executive function and sensory discrimination through structured, targeted exercises designed to rebuild weakened pathways.

Dynamical Neurofeedback®

We provide your central nervous system with real-time mirroring so it can settle turbulence, build stability, and continually optimize its own cortical patterns naturally.

The ultimate goal. To move your system out of chronic stress mode and help your brain remember how to toggle seamlessly between deep, restorative relaxation and sharp, alert focus.

What NCP supports

A versatile, integrated model addressing both higher-order cognitive networks and the perceptual-physiological systems that continuously adapt and recalibrate.

Cognitive framework

Higher-order thought, executive control, memory and language processing.

  • ADD and ADHD
  • Apraxia and aphasia
  • Anxiety and depression
  • Dyslexia and language disorders

Physiological and perceptual framework

Sensing, adjusting and restoring the nervous system’s natural ability to adapt fluidly to what life asks of it.

  • Autoimmune conditions and chronic stress
  • Autism spectrum and learning differences
  • Hypertension and migraines
  • Traumatic brain injury and stroke recovery
  • Sleep disorders and tinnitus

Where NCP fits

Not an extra service: our integrative standard. NeuroCognitive Processing is not a separate third service on a menu. It is our signature care model, bringing Dynamical Neurofeedback® and Cognitive Rehabilitation Therapy (CRT) together into one seamless session.

While you can explore either modality individually, combining central nervous system regulation with targeted cognitive training is where lasting neuroplasticity happens.

How your plan is guided. What we focus on during an NCP session is never guesswork or a generic template. It is directed entirely by your initial assessment: birth through six years is guided by Developmental Milestones, and ages seven through seniors by the Individualized NeuroDevelopmental Profile.

Whether you are navigating focus challenges, sensory processing differences, recovery after an injury, or chronic stress, your sessions are built around your unique neural profile. The presentations we support are listed under conditions we work with.

Questions people ask

Helpful answers about how our dual-track sessions work, especially how the experience differs from neurofeedback on its own. Have a question not listed here? Reach out, we are always glad to help.

How is NCP different from other neurofeedback?

Most traditional neurofeedback programs ask you to sit passively while watching a screen. NCP is built around active recovery, running Dynamical Neurofeedback® and targeted cognitive rehabilitation at the exact same time. Your central nervous system learns to self-correct, quiet turbulence and build lasting resilience while your brain is actively working under load.

Dr. Lisé DeLong. NCP is our signature, proprietary care model, developed and refined over decades of clinical practice exclusively for the Institute of Cognitive Connections.

To help your central nervous system step out of chronic stress mode, giving your brain the real-time information it needs to toggle smoothly between deep, restorative relaxation and sharp, alert focus as your day demands.

NCP supports challenges across both our cognitive and physiological-perceptual frameworks. This includes ADD and ADHD, anxiety, depression, dyslexia, autism spectrum differences, traumatic brain injury and stroke recovery, chronic stress, sleep disorders, and tinnitus.
